With the new system we will be able to support the AMBrc personal transponders as well as the new MYLAPS RC4 Hybrid transponders which are about to be released. The new Hybrid transponders provide a range of new features and some of the marketing blurb seems to imply upgradability. Here are the new functions/features of the new transponders:
Apparently these new transponders also offer a better signal strength, and are compatible with the AMBrc/RC2/RC3 transponder systems that are currently running at other clubs. Now the very important bit for club members, as part of our upgrade we will be getting a bunch of the new RC4 Hybrid transponders on a first in first served. In order to claim your personal transponder you need to have paid for it by the end of the club meeting on the 21st of March but don't wait until the last minute, the order will be placed after that. The expected delivery of the transponders is April, further news will be available here as things happen. The cost of the transponders will be as follows:
Very important to note that this price is only an introductory price as part of the upgrade to the new system and as part of a bulk buy by the club, once this batch goes the price will go up and you will have to source your own transponders, unless we have enough interest to do another bulk order. tp |
